ART OF STAINED GLASS Before grinding glass for a 3D or medium-sized project, it is a good idea to build a jig to make sure that all pieces are exactly of the same dimensions and will fit together as perfectly as possible: Place your pattern on a piece of wood, and cover with transparent plastic (overhead transparencies are good for this purpose) to protect the pattern against water damage. In freeform projects, the jig is simulated by a making a "frame" with pushpins.
