STEP 4: Prepare the camera
Load film into the camera. Slow speeds (100 ASA sloweest, 200 ASA a little faster) are recommended for greater detail and color. In order to correct the orangish light imbalance resulting from the tungsten bulb within the shade, and without, an 80A filter is indispensible.

Place the camera directly in front of the lamp, level with its center.

STEP 5: Position the shade
Look through the camera view-finder. Photographing a panel shade is somewhat more difficult because great care must be taken to position the shade relative to the camera lens so that the panels are perfectly symmetric across the vertical axis.
